Ms. Anke Schlimm, the Counsellor of Legal and Consular Section at the German Embassy in China, visited the Sino-German Institute of Law of CUPL on 15 October, 2013.
Associate Dean (from German side) of the Sino-German Institute of Law Prof. Dr. Marco Haase provided Ms. Schlimm with a tour to the institute library. After the tour, Dean of the institute Associate Prof. Xie Libin, Prof. Haase and Ms. Schlimm had a formal talk.
Prof. Xie and Prof. Haase introduced the history and current situation of the institute and extended their gratitude to the Embassy's support. During the past few years, the Embassy welcomed and met the students of the institute for a regular visit every June. It also offers the exchange students to German quick and convenient assistance for their visa application.
Ms. Anke Schlimm said that the achievement of the Sino-German Institute of Law was very impressive and its exchange between China and Germany legal arena was productive. Ms. Schlimm especially mentioned the Sino-German Constitution Forum, organized by the institute annually, for its significant role in the country ruled by law dialogue between China and Germany. Ms. Schlimm herself also attended the 4th forum held in September and she got a direct experience of it.
It was an important agenda for Ms. Schlimm to visit the Sino-German Institute of Law after her taking up the post for only two months. At the end of the meeting, she expressed her expectation in further cooperation and exchange between the Embassy and the institute.
