Vice-President Zhu Yong, Prof. Yuanshi Bu, Director of East Asia Law Institute of Freiburg University, Coordinator of German partner universities and Sino-German Institute of Law as well as the Dean (German side) of the latter, and Prof. Rolf Stuerner from Freiburg University met on the afternoon of 8 October at Xueyuanlu Campus.
Dean of College of Comparative Law Prof. Gao Xiang, Associate Dean of the college & Dean (Chinese side) of Sino-German Institute of Law Associate Prof. Xie Libin, Associate Dean of the Institute Prof. Marco Haase, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of CUPL Dr. Wang Fuping attended the meeting.
"China University of Political Science and Law will continuously provide the Sino-German Institute of Law with key attention and support," Vice-President Zhu Yong said: "Our university will put no effort in gaining social support in the operation of the cooperative program between CUPL and five German universities." He also expressed his concern on receiving support from German partners and DAAD.
Prof. Bu said that the Sino-German Institute of Law has cultivated numbers of high-level personnel and the achievement so far is impressive in both China and Germany law filed.
Two parties agreed on further enhancing the cooperation to promote the development of the Institute during the meeting.
Before the meeting, Prof. Stuerner gave a lecture to the students on "Die deutsche Zivilrechtswissenschaft und ihre Methodik - Nützliche Schlüsse für China?" (German Civil Law and Its Approach to China Law). Prof. Stuerner is a well-known German law expert, whose book Sachenrecht co-written with Jürgen F. Baur is translated to Chinese and exerted a wide influence on the law academy.
