As a member of the China Association for Legal Education delegation, Dean of the College of Comparative Law Professor Gao Xiang attended the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) on 2-6 Jan, 2015.
The delegation was led by Prof. Han Dayuan, Vice President of the China Association for Legal Education & Dean of the Law School of Remin University of China. Other members included Dean and Associate Dean of the Law School of Peking University Prof. Zhang Shouwen and Prof. Wang Xizi, Dean of the School of Law of Tsinghua University Prof. Wang Zhenmin, Dean of the Law School of Beijing Foreign Studies University Prof. Wan Meng, Officer of the Sino-America Exchange Committee of China Association for Legal Education & Director of the Teaching and Research Department of Comparative Law of Remin University of China Prof. Ding Xiangshun, and Secretary of the Committee Mr. Xu Fei.
Prof. Gao Xiang presented a report on Challenges & Opportunities: U.S. - China Cooperation in Legal Education, speaking from the international cooperation and cooperative models of the programs that the China University of Political Science and Law and its College of Comparative Law held in recent years, explored the potential collaboration and challenges between legal education institutions in China and the U.S. He furthermore offered practical suggestions on developing programs such as student exchange, staff exchange and dual-degree.
During the meeting, Dean Gao also met with Secretary-General of the American Comparative Law Association Prof. Frank Gevurtz and Dean of the Law School of George Mason University Prof. Daniel Polsby, discussing the possibilities of cooperation.
