A/Prof. Pan Deng from the College gave an exclusive interview to Russia Today TV on the eve of the sixteenth BRICS leaders' meeting in Kazan, Russia.
During the summit from 22 to 24 October, the interview was broadcast on its Spanish Channel in a hourly news cycle. In the interview, Pan Deng elaborated on such topics as 'the role of the BRICS countries in international governance', 'upholding the international order based on international law in the global south', 'emerging economies fending off risks and challenges together', 'developing countries promoting the establishment of a fair and equitable international order' and 'upgrading Brics cooperation'.
A small meeting of BRICS leaders was held on 23 October. Pan Deng also made an interpretation of the leaders' statements and the phased outcomes of the meeting.
