The General Assembly for the Announcement of Appointing Liu Chengwei as the Deputy Dean of the College of Comparative Law was held by the College on the afternoon of 27 April, 2021. Vice President Shi Jianzhong, Ni Jing, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the University attended the meeting. All members of the College leadership and heads of each institute of the College participated in the meeting. The decision of the University appointing Liu Chengwei as the Deputy Dean of the College was announced at the meeting. Ni Jing moderated the meeting.
At the meeting, Ni Jing read out the China University of Political Science and Law Notice on the Appointment and Dismissal of Liu Chengwei and Other Comrades. According to the Regulations on the Selection and Appointment of China University of Political Science and Law and Department-Level Leading Cadres, the University Standing Committee decided at its eighth meeting on 16 April, 2021 that Liu Chengwei was appointed the Deputy Dean of the College of Comparative Law.
Deputy Dean Liu Chengwei expressed his gratitude to the University for its trust and to the Graduate School of the University for its cultivation. He said he would switch roles as soon as he returned to the College and enter his new job with enthusiasm, “the next step is to cooperate with the leadership of the College, unite the faculty of College, serve everyone with due diligence, adhere to diligence, integrity and self-discipline, and jointly promote the development of the College and the discipline of comparative law”.
Dean of the College Xie Zhiyong expressed his gratitude to the University for attaching great importance to the construction of the leadership and the development of the College, and welcomed the arrival of Deputy Dean Liu Chengwei. At the same time, he highly affirmed Liu's professional academic level and research ability. Finally, Xie pointed out that he hoped that Liu would shoulder the heavy burden, and that the leadership of the College would give full support to Liu and enable the College to make significant progress in professional research, discipline development and talent cultivation.
Shi Jiangzhong congratulated Liu on his appointment and pointed out that a sound leadership is the foundation for the construction and development of the College, and that Liu should change his role as soon as possible and carry out all work with a higher position, a larger perspective and a broader vision. He expressed the hope that Liu will be integrated into the leadership of the College soon, unite the faculty members, focus on the key work, and turn his enthusiasm into strength of the discipline, thus bringing new development to the College. Finally, he put forward higher requirements for the discipline development of comparative law and the training of foreign-related legal talents.
Ni Jing expressed the hope that Liu would adapt to his new post as soon as possible, further strengthen his study and complete the role change. She hoped that the whole College would support, understand and help Liu and contribute to the University’s construction of “Double First-Class” initiative.
