Jean Monnet Programme Tenured Professor Mr. Thomas M. J. Moellers from the University of Augsburg gave a lecture on the Takeover Fight between Porsche and Volkswagen to the students on Xueyuanlu Campus on the afternoon of 16 April, 2014.
This lecture was the 139th speech of CUPL's Masters' Forum and also the 8th one of Jean Monnet Programme, which is launched by Prof. Zhang Tong from the College of Comparative Law. Zhang moderated the lecture.
Prof. Moellers first introduced the background history of the Porsche-Volkswagen merger competition. Then he analysed more than 30 lawsuits caused by this seesaw battle. Moellers futher explained the controversy and distribution of interest behind the takeover fight. He summerised the legal issues related to this case and proposed his opinion from angles of law protection, court and legislator.
During the course, Moellers repsonded actively to the audiences and spoke highly of CUPL students' foreign language ability and thier involvement.
