Dean of the College of Comparative Law Prof. Gao Xiang went to attend Incoterms+Transport Working Group Meeting and Annual Conference of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission of Commercial Law and Practice in Paris, France from 6 to 7 Nov, 2014. Before that, Prof. Gao also presented a keynote speech on China's Shadow Bank Issues on Shadow Banking Conference in Amsterdam, Netherlands on 4 Nov, 2014.
Recommended by the ICC China, Prof. Gao Xiang was invited to serve on the Legal Committee, ICC Banking Commission in January and the Legal and Practice Commission of ICC in September this year.
ICC Banking Commission and Legal and Practice Commission both play avital role in making international trading regulations. The Banking Commission produced influential Customs and Practice for Commercial Documentary Credits and the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees. The Legal and Practice Commission is known for its incoterms.
So far, Prof. Gao Xiang is one of the two Chinese members on the Legal Committee, ICC Banking Commission as well as the only Chinese member on the ICC Legal and Practice Commission.
