A delegation of senior people from the prestigious international law firm, Houthoff Buruma, with principal offices in the Netherlands, visited the College of Comparative Law and awarded the Houthoff Buruma Scholarship to the College students on the afternoon of 25 March, 2014.
Dean of the College, Professor Gao Xiang met with the delegation in the conference room on Xueyuanlu Campus. Members of the delegation included:

Co-founder of the Dutch and German Lawyers Association, Lecturer of Leiden University and Utrecht University & Houthoff Buruma Partner Mr. Peter Habraken,
Houthoff Buruma Partner Ms. Jessica Terpstra, and
Business Development Executive of Houthoff Buruma Ms. Zhong Li.
Secretary of Party Branch Committee & Associate Dean Ms. Wang Fang, Associate Dean Prof. Lin Lin, Distinguished Professor E. Eugene Clark,Office Director Ms. Yan Jingjing and Foreign Affairs Secretary Ms. Li Li also attended the meeting and the award ceremony.
The Houthoff Buruma Scholarship was set up in the College since September, 2013, aiming to acknowledge and reward students who are outstanding in terms of research, academic success in course work, foreign language abilities and contribution to non-profit activities. According to the evaluation from the College Grant Working Group, year 2012 entering students Mr. Wu Yiyue and Ms. Zou Mengxi won the scholarship for 2014.
Associate Dean Lin Lin moderated the Award Ceremony. Dean Gao Xiang extended his warmest welcome to the delegation for their second visit and expressed his gratitude for the firm's generous donation. The College would like to explore more possibilities on student interns in the firm.
Mr. Bosman said that Houthoff Buruma encourages Chinese students to go abroad and learn different legal systems in those countries and regions. Houthoff Buruma welcomes the College students to go to Netherlands for study exchanges. Then, Mr. Bosman awarded the scholarship to the candidates. Ms. Zou Mengxi gave a speech on behalf of the scholarship recipients.
