The China-Germany Law Institute held the Symposium on Autonomy of Private Law: Tasks and Limits (Tagung deutschsprachiger Juristen in Asien,Privatautonomie---Aufgaben und Grenzen) in Beijing on May 24 - 26, 2013.
The conference aimed to enhance the communication and cooperation between the German law experts and scholars in East Asian region, and bridge a common academic research platform. The German Academic Exchange Center (DAAD), Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) and College of Comparative Law sponsored this event. More than 50 German law experts and scholars from Germany, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, mainland China and Taiwan region attended it.
Prof. Dr. Xie Libin, Dean of the China-Germany Law Institute of CUPL, moderated the meeting. Asia-Pacific Program Director of DAAD Dr. Klaus Birk and Beijing Program Director of KAS Dr. Thomas Awe represented the opening remarks. The three-day symposium consisted of 13 units with 26 seminars.
