Director of the Institute of European Law of the College Prof. Zhang Tong and A/Prof. Xu Yan from the College won the Third Prize of the University-level Teaching Achievement Award of 2020 for their work the Teaching Reform and Textbook Compilation of the EU Economic and Trade Law on 10 Sept, 2020.
Since 2010, Zhang Tong has set up the EU Economic and Trade Law module for undergraduates of the University, and in 2014, she hosted the reform of the curriculum and the compilation of the teaching materials of this module as a teaching reform project, and Xu Yan was the main participant. The result of the project was the teaching material the EU Economic and Trade Law, which has been organized and published since September 2014. Its characteristic is that it has absorbed the latest achievements of EU economic and trade law, in particular, the optimization selected some of the close economic and trade links with the EU, such as the EU Consumer Protection Law, EU Competition Law, EU Anti-Dumping Law and Anti-Subsidy Law. At the same time, the textbook also screened nearly 40 classic cases of the European Court of Justice to help students better understand the EU economic and trade law judicial practice. This textbook is the first one in the field of EU economic and trade law, which solves the problem of lacking reference materials and separating the teaching content from the China-EU economic and trade relations.
