Director of Institute of Cross-Strait and Hong Kong and Macau A/Prof. Xu Yan attended the 24th Cross-Strait Fiscal & Tax Law Symposium—Tax Law Education Reform and Modern Country Ruled by Law at Taiwan University on 11 April, 2016. Prof. Xu Yan presented a report on Exploration on Reform Pathway of University Research Institute’s Fiscal & Tax Law Education.
The symposium was held by Fiscal & Tax Law Research Centre of School of Law of Taiwan University, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Taiwan, Chunghwa Institute of International Taxation and School of Law of Soochow University, and co-organized by Taiwai Tax Law Association,Accounting ResearchandTax affairs.
A/Prof. Xu Yan adopted online questionnaire format to summarize the issues existing in tax law education on university level. She put forward that the reform pathways of teaching content, teaching methods, teaching tools and assessment format. A/Prof.Xu also reviewed Prof. Chen Qingxiu’s (from Soochow University) paper on Review on Tax Law’s Examination System in Lawyer Examination.
After the symposium, she visited PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Taiwan and Taipei University of Business at their invitation.
During this trip inTaiwan, A/Prof. Xu Yan also attended Cross-Strait Land Tax and Other Levies Law Education Forum at Feng Chia University. She shared and exchanged her opinions with other scholars on current situation and development tendency of tax law in mainland China and conflicts on the right to tax on the income tax on cross-border transactions between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits.
