The College of Comparative Law held its annual Job Application Experience Exchange Meeting for its 2014 graduating students on the afternoon of 20 June, 2014 on Xueyuanlu Campus. Ms. Chen Lu from the Career Center of CUPL, Secretary of the Party Branch Committee & Associate Dean of the College and Ms. Yang Mingyuan from the college administration attended this event. Three students, representing this year's graduates who were just offered a good post, Wei Guanpeng, Chen Junhong and Zou Mengxi, and a year 2010 graduate Li Fupeng were invited to give a speech on the meeting. President of the College Student Union Li Duomi moderated the meeting.
Chen Lu first encouraged the students to think thoroughly before making decisions on career choice. Then she answered the audiences' question referring to employment policy.
Wei Guanpeng, who was lately hired by Chaoyang District Court, shared his and his coursemate Wei Xilan's experience on job application procedures.
Chen Junhong is now working for a famous law firm in Beijing. He analyzed the benefits and drawbacks of being a new lawyer and introduced the job opportunities in his firm.
Zou Mengxi is going to take a position at Shanghai Branch of China Construction Bank soon. She talked about the timeline, process and tips about applying for foreign companies and banks in China. She also shared her preparing materials for her job.
Li Fupeng chose to create his own business after graduation. He claimed that career choice is influenced by many factors like family, friends connection and personal gift. He introduced how he created his business and the current situation of his coursemates.
Associate Dean Wang Fang presented a summary for the meeting. She emphasized that all students should prepare carefully, decide accurately, choose logically and accept and reject cautiously during the job application course.
During the Q& A section, the guests and the audiences exchanged their opinions on career choices.
